Professional
Throughout the month of October 2018, I demonstrated professionalism not only in the work environment, but also at the leadership conference I was able to attend. I displayed effective communication and collaboration with others while designing our marketing presentation for the Tennessee trade show coming up. It was essential for me to work with multiple co-workers in order to get the best ideas possible and finish within the deadline given. Starting the year off with a project like this allowed me to get a feel for what it can be like and how to manage my time. I was able to develop within myself and the way I learn by engaging with other members of the marketing department and further expanding my ideas while also using theirs at the same time. Not only have I enhanced relationships within Spectrum, but I also began to start up relationships while at the leadership conference at NIU's Naperville campus. I introduced our product line and some of the packages and items we have to offer to several employees from other firms who all showed interest in our packages. In order to enhance my professional abilities in the future, I will continue to collaborate with the rest of the marketing department to build more trust. This will allow us to get work done in and outside of class more effectively. Finally, being able to solve problems creatively is an essential characteristic needed in marketing and I feel like have applied this skill numerous times.
During the month of March 2019, my professionalism in the workplace has improved since the last time I reflected on myself in October. I have recently been collaborating with members of the finance department to determine what we could buy and or bring in for our booth for the upcoming in-house trade show. Below is a link that will show what employees are in charge of bringing certain items (if any). The deadline for our in-house trade show is the last school week of March, and our CMO was unavailable the entire week. I had to step up and help with the management of our tasks in an appropriate and professional manner. I would rate myself as a 9/10 for professionalism because I focused on limiting my phone use and directing my attention to work. I will continue to work on this skill in the future by further focusing on not using my phone or working on other classwork during company time.
